Phytase is an enzyme which degrades phytic acid. The main action of phytase is hydrolysis of the phosphate groups from the phytic acid molecule, so free phosphate molecules come available for the animal to be up taken in the small intestine. Phytic acid as such cannot be digested by the animal. Besides containing Phosphate, phytic acid forms insoluble complexes with protein, starch, fatty acids and ions such as calcium, magnesium and iron. The bound nutrients in this complex are unavailable for the animal’s digestive tract. For this reason phytic acid is determined as an anti-nutritional factor. When phytase has hydrolysed at least 2 phosphate groups from the phytic acid, the phytic acid is no longer capable of forming this complex with nutrients. Phytic acid is found in many vegetable raw materials used in feed, such as corn and corn products, wheat, legumes, soya bean and other grains. The use of phytase in feed reduces the need for adding inorganic Phosphorus (from MCP or DCP) to the feed. Also, it eliminates the forming of insoluble complexes and thus improves the utilization of nutrients.
DESCRIPTION
Derived from the fermentation products of Aspergillus niger,Angel phytase is an enzyme that catalyzes the hydrolysis of phytic acid(myo-inositol hexakisphosphate) an indigestible, organic form of phosphorusthat is found in grainsand oil seeds, and releases a usable form of inorganic phosphorus.
MECHANISM
Hydrolyze phytate in feed, release digestible phosphorus, increase the utilization of phosphorus in feed.
Reduce the amount of supplemental inorganic P, decrease the feed cost, save space of formula.
Decrease the excretion of P in manure and the environment pollution.
Improve the availability of nutrients such as minerals and proteins, improve the animal performance.
Cut down the risk of the heavy metals by supplemental di-calcium phosphate.
APPLICATIONS
Phytase application can reduce phosphorus excretion by up to 50%, a feat that would contribute significantly toward environmental protection. Furthermore, phytase supplementation leads to improved availability of minerals and trace elements. In addition to its major application in animal nutrition, phytase is also used for processing of human food. Research in this field focuses on better mineral absorption and technical improvement of food processing.
Use
The product is used as an additive in combined feedstuffs minimal containing 0,23% of Phytin bound Phosphorus. It is used in feeds for all categories of poultry and pigs with the purpose of degrading the phytate phosphorus and its subsequent digestion by the animals, as well as improving the utilization of other nutrients, such as proteins, calcium, microelements and amino acids
